Meet the Camden Team Behind Level Two Chimney Camden

We’re the crew that shows up at your door in Camden, Pennsauken, and down through Cherry Hill. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s the Haven Standard, and the fact that every one of us has seen what happens when a chimney gets neglected. We don’t do urgency theatre. We do written prices, photo records, and work we can sign our names to. Corrine Halstead runs this location, and she hires people who’d rather explain a flue liner problem twice than sell something you don’t need.

Marcus T. - Lead Technician, NFPA 211 Level 2 Inspector

Marcus has been climbing roofs in Camden County for fourteen years. He holds NFPA 211 Level 2 certification and specializes in camera-scan diagnostics, the kind that finds cracked flue liners hiding behind what looks like surface soot. He can read a smoke chamber like most people read a newspaper, and he’ll tell you exactly what he sees before he tells you what it costs to fix. Off the clock, he restores vintage motorcycles in his garage in Oaklyn. He claims the patience for tuning a 1974 carburetor is the same patience required for scraping Class III glazed creosote off a smoke shelf. He’s not wrong.

Darnell K. - Senior Installer, Chimney Liner & Rebuild Specialist

Darnell came to us from commercial HVAC, and he still thinks in terms of system efficiency. He handles our DuraFlex and HeatShield liner installations, plus full rebuilds when the masonry has gone past spalling into structural compromise. He’s the one who explains why a stainless steel liner costs what it costs, and why a cheap fix now usually means pulling his work out in three years. Darnell lives in Cramer Hill and coaches youth basketball at the community center on Saturdays. He has a rule: never schedule a liner job the Monday after a tournament weekend. The kids come first. The chimneys wait.

Sofia R. - Service Coordinator

Sofia answers the phones that ring at 10 PM on a Sunday and the ones that come in at 7 AM before the coffee’s ready. She’s the person who makes sure your written price, your written scope, and your written warranty are in your inbox before Marcus or Darnell backs out of your driveway. She grew up in East Camden, knows which streets have the narrow alleys that affect ladder setup, and schedules accordingly. She keeps a running bet with the techs about which neighborhood will have the most cricket installations this season. She’s currently winning. Sofia also handles the Free Second Opinion requests, and she’s direct about it: bring us the competitor’s written estimate, and we’ll tell you if it’s right or if it’s padded.

Elijah V. - Apprentice Technician

Elijah joined us in 2023 after two years in general construction. He’s learning the trade from Marcus, one flue at a time, and he’s already better at spotting crown cracks from the ground than some techs with a decade in. He handles prep work, equipment maintenance, and the documentation that Clause 4 of the Haven Standard requires: photos, camera footage, written condition reports. Elijah asks more questions than he answers right now, which is exactly what you want in someone who’ll be on your roof in five years. He lives in Collingswood, takes the PATCO in when his truck’s in the shop, and has developed an unexpected expertise in Gelco cap sizing from measuring so many flues.

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard wasn’t invented in a boardroom. It was built from what Corrine Halstead and the original crew learned doing this work in Camden, year after year. Clause 1 says you get a written price before anyone starts. Clause 4 says you get a documented photo record when we’re done. The 365-Day Done Right Promise sits on top of both.
